Who are wave to earth?
wave to earth are a 3-piece indie group made up of members Daniel Kim (vocals and guitar), Soonjong Cha (bass), and Donggyu Shin (drums). They debuted in 2019 with the single, Wave, as a two-piece featuring Daniel and Donggyu before adding Soonjong for their first EP, Wave 0.01, in early 2020. To date, they have released 2 EPs and 5 singles. These guys make what can only be described as dreamy indie-pop. Kim's soft, delicate vocals over their dreamy synth and soft guitar instrumentals make for a perfect soundtrack for the dog days of summer. They also perform all their songs in English which is great for those who have a hard time getting into Korean music because of the language.

There's no better way to debut than with a track like this. Wave is a great introduction to wave to earth's sound as it features those magical synths and soft guitar melodies. Summer Flows 0.02 is wave to earth coming into their sound the most. Just as the name entails, it's got the summer vibes but it's mixed with that nostalgia. Songs like Ride and Surf., feature the hot guitar and driving basslines which give a little pep to your summer soundtrack. Then there are tracks like Seasons and Ocean Floor that give a beautiful, chill vibe. The tracklist flows really well from the peppy guitars to poetic songs about yearning and ending on a coffee shop-esque guitar solo. It's the perfect EP for any season and mood.

This is a surprisingly easy choice even though all their music is incredible. Seasons sits in the middle of their Summer Flows EP and just stands out in all the best ways. This song is a delicate, ballad-esque track that has all the boxes checked for a usual wave to earth song. The reason it stands out, though, is those bluesy guitar solos and the lyrics. It's a song about yearning in which the lyrics make it super poetic and beautiful. And then the way Daniel shreds during the breaks makes it more emotional.
