5. Lightsum
Summer was made fresh with Lightsum’s debut. Their debut single, Vanilla, divided fans. But it definitely stood out to the blog as a top debut. The fun, summer-y lyrics with a crazy dance break make it a fun tune for the warmer months. These girls then followed it up with the more well-liked Vivace. The house beats and catchy chorus make this an instant bop. These girls will definitely shine in 2022 with their fun sound.
4. Kingdom
Kingdom were a band that took a while to warm up to. Their concept was immediately intriguing with the medieval theme but their songs took a while for me to warm up too. But their talents are insane. Their raps are really strong, their vocals are actually breathtaking, and the choreography is actually beautiful. They had an insane year dropping 3 albums with each telling a story. With 21 songs under their belt and their talents being actually genius, these guys will go far in 2022.
3. IVE
IVE is a fresh debut on the list. They debuted at the start of December and are not looking back. Their debut, ELEVEN, is one of the catchiest songs of the year. Their catchy lyrics are on top of a funky beat that make it perfect for a dance party. The vocals these girls have are also insanely beautiful and blend so well together. This song is definitely one for the books. IVE will definitely be ones to look out for in 2022.
2. Xdinary Heroes
These guys are another fresh debut. They debuted in early December as well and already made a name for themselves. Being the younger brother group of their JYP lablemates, DAY6, they were destined to have some fame off the heels of their debut. But what was unexpected was the sound they shared in their debut song, Happy Death Day. It’s punk-pop attitude and insanely catchy chorus make it destined to be on repeat. This song definitely shows promise for their sound and what 2022 will offer them.
1.Omega X
Omega X came onto the scene with loud, noise-pop, party hits that wowed everyone. This group is a second chance for 11 boys that had already debuted in other now-disbanded groups. When you combine their already polished talents it’s destined to make something incredible. Their debut song, VAMOS, was a smash hit full of insane raps, choreography, and killer vocals. It was a complete package. Then, they followed up with What’s Goin’ On? and truly certified themselves as K-Pop hitmakers. Their future is looking bright and it will be fun to see where they go next in 2022.
