"I'm a different type of beast, but it's okay," Jessi raps over this heavy guitar riff in her latest single, What Type of X. She's definitely not wrong. Jessi is among K-Pop royalty. Everyone just seems to know her in some shape or form. She's a rapper, singer, composer, dancer; she can just do it all. One thing she's best at though is experimentation. She certainly knows how to change her sound and image every comeback and deliver something new. Even though she knows how to change styles, What Type of X is certainly surprising and really showcases her experimental side well.
This song starts off as this heavy rock tune with a heavy guitar riff and simple rock beat that you can stomp or clap along to. It really shows off her badass side. This flows into a heavy electronic drop and chorus. At first, it sounds like it wouldn't work but man Jessi rocks it so well. What Type of X is a tune to bring out your badass side and make you dance and stomp along. In an interview, Jessi said this song didn't feel like her at first but now she really likes it. And I can't see where she's coming from because she fits this rock concept so well. She's a mothereffin' rockstar and What Type of X really proves it. She's a queen and I hope to hear more stuff like this in the future because it's insane.
