On Repeat: WooAh HIP - MAMADOL

In the K-Pop industry lately, it seems like idols are being debuted younger and younger. It's understandable though, as the industry is so built off of striking while the iron is hot. If you debut someone older (especially boys) there isn't much time for them to promote before reaching an age where they start to settle (or go into the military). But there is a downside. K-Pop is so built on making connections with idols that having idols debut at younger and younger ages really alienates the older fans.

Occasionally though, there are idols who break this barrier. Last year, there was Omega X who debuted only idols that had previously debuted before. And now, there is Mamadol. This is a group of 6 women who not only have debuted before but they became moms and started families. They left the industry and wanted to start anew and on their debut track, WooAh HIP, it shows these ladies have not lost their spark.

WooAh HIP is a funky tune that features a runway-ready instrumental. There's a poppy sample and groovy drums that grab you from the get-go. It feels very vogue-like. These girls rock it too with their incredible vocals and crazy raps. The song builds to an explosive chorus that has some catchy melodies and a wild dance break that sets the song on fire. While this is a debut song, it really is a song that only experienced idols could pull off. They bring a level of fierceness that baby groups could never pull off. It's a song that is made for those who have had years to practice their skill.

MAMADOL is breaking barriers by showing even older idols have it too. WooAh HIP is a song that is ready for any party. They showcase their vocal, rap, and dance skills incredibly. It will be amazing to see what else they have to show.
